Course Content
The Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Support course is designed to teach students knowledge of the fundamentals of the Cisco Unified Compute System and the ability to implement a virtualized Data Center environment. In addition the student also learns on how to implement the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) in an enterprise data center routing and switching infrastructure with the next-generation Cisco Nexus product family.
Module 1 Understanding how Cisco UCS Benefits Today’s Data Center
Illustrate the need for and placement of the Cisco Unified Compute System ( Cisco UCS)
Module 2 Understanding Cisco’s Unified Compute System
Introduce hardware and feature details about the Cisco Unified Compute System
Module 3 Understanding User Management
Describe the key operational and management functions and tasks required to initially set up the Cisco Unified Compute System
Module 4 Understanding the Chassis Array Manager (CAM) Conceptual Overview
This Module describes the function of the Chassis Array Manager (CAM) within the Cisco UCS implementation
Module 5 Explaining the Implementation of Server Resources via the Unified Compute System
This Module examines elements and implementation of the Cisco UCS at a low level
Module 6 Maintaining a Cisco Unified Compute System
This Module illustrates Maintenance techniques and tools used in the Cisco Unified Compute System
Module 7 Monitoring, Diagnostics and Troubleshooting the Cisco Unified Compute System
This module will describe and illustrate basic Diagnostic methods and processes to be used with the Cisco UCS
Module 8 Designing Cisco Unified Compute System Deployment
This module shall define design criteria and discuss design choices and key elements leading to implementation of the Cisco UCS.
