Important Changes in Cisco's Collaboration Specializations and Certifications

With new training requirements for the Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization, the recent introduction of the Express Collaboration Specialization and the retirement of the Advanced Unified Communications Specialization, the Cisco Collaboration portfolio is evolving rapidly.

We would therefore like to provide you with a clear and detailed overview of all of the changes.

New Training Requirements for Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization

Effective 13th May 2013, the Cisco Unity Support Specialist requirement will be retired from the Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization. Concurrently, Cisco is introducing the !Cisco Video Network Specialist certification.

Collaboration today has moved beyond traditional unified communications. It encompasses telepresence, workspace applications, unified communications and customer collaboration. By enhancing the Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization, Cisco aligns the training requirements with these evolvements.

The !Cisco Video Network Specialist certification consists of 1 exam. The recommended courses are the online course Implementing Cisco Video Network Devices, Part 1 (VIVND1) and the classroom based course !Implementing Cisco Video Network Devices, Part 2 (VIVND2).

Please note: the Cisco Video Network Specialist certification should not be confused with the CCNA Video certification!

Beginning 13th May 2013, new Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization candidates, and existing partners renewing their specialization, will need to complete this updated requirement.

Announcing Express Collaboration Specialization

Cisco is expanding its collaboration portfolio with the introduction of the new Express Collaboration Specialization, designed specifically for partners focused on the midmarket. The specialization includes the Cisco Business Edition 6000, WebEx, Jabber, and TelePresence.

The Express Collaboration Specialization is a requirement for the Cisco Premier certification.

Retirement of Advanced Unified Communications Specialization

Cisco will discontinue enrollment in the Advanced Unified Communications Specialization effective 10th May 2013. All partners currently enrolled in the program are encouraged to migrate to the Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization or the newly announced Express Collaboration Specialization.

The last day for new partners to apply for the Advanced Unified Communications Specialization is 10th May 2013. The specialization will cease to exist on 9th May 2014.
