Developments in the IT job market are moving at lightning speed. The demand for well-trained IT professionals continues to grow, while supply is lagging behind. Fast Lane therefore considers it essential that new target groups can enter the IT sector in an accessible way and develop into sustainably employable IT professionals.

Entrants and reskillers: the key to growth in the IT job market

To structurally reduce the shortage of IT professionals, increasing inflow is crucial. That is why Fast Lane specifically focuses on entrants and reskillers who want to acquire basic IT knowledge and pursue a new career in IT. This group includes, among others:

  • Job seekers
  • Refugees and newcomers
  • Reskillers from other sectors or physically demanding professions
  • People who have dropped out of formal education
  • Entry-level IT professionals who do not yet possess the right skills

Reskilling is often more accessible than people think

Many people believe that reskilling is only possible if they can fully finance it themselves. In practice, this is rarely the case. There are various subsidies, funds and schemes that make reskilling to IT accessible. One example is the ESF+ CA-ICT subsidy scheme, which subsidizes as much as 40% of your reskilling programme. In this way, Fast Lane lowers the threshold to take the step toward a future-proof career in IT.

"Our goal is to give people a chance at a sustainable career in the rapidly changing IT world. It is our way of contributing to solving societal challenges. We do not only develop knowledge and skills, but also provide people with future prospects while simultaneously contributing to the new IT reality. We are proud of that!"
